2013-14 news. Patent pending in 148 countries, "Solar Traps" technology is reported in more detail in dozens of McClatchy American newspapers here, (and more background solar publicity here). Candidly stated, Solar Traps technology requires no expensive mirrors or tracking technology and is many times better than all previously known solar technologies - far superior to PV or CSP solar. It represents a new means to capture and store almost 100% of the available local solar energy per acre at very high temperatures (far in excess of 10000F) and also at over 90% efficiency at such temperature extremes - the combination of which has not been achieved beore. Mastering both high temperatures and high efficiencies at low costs has, until now, been the solar barrier to achieving ultimate and vital goal of super cheap very long term solar energy macro STORAGE. Pinnacle Products has shattered those barriers by 10-fold better than all before. High temperatures have always been a fundamental physics requirement of all efficient thermal engines (Carnot thermodynamics), such as thermoelectric power plant turbines. Higher collection temperatures also dramatically reduce the cost of compactly storing voluminous thermal energy - a second vital solar barrier of 24/7 reliability.

January 2014 super high efficiency solid state thermoelectricity (no turbines) patent has been filed and a new thermodynamics law of physics is presently undergoing  final scientific review.
It was suggested above that very high electric power efficiencies are totally governed by employing the highest possible temperature "fuel," including high temperature SOLAR fuel. That remains the 190 year old law of physics. Global steam power plants do indeed demand very high temperatures and pressure steam to efficiently power rotary turbines. The weakness of such prior art steam power generation is not only the need of very high temperatures, but also the gross thermal waste energy after steam exits the turbines and condenses back to liquid. Typically massive amounts of river water is employed to condense the final low vapor pressure steam back to liquid water, so that  it can be pumped back to very hot boilers to repeat the generating cycle. Typically, over 60% of conventional power plant input energy (from coal/gas/oil/nuclear/solar) is completely wasted to river heating. Thus, for more than a century, the power industry has sought ingenious means to somehow capture those literally trillions of dollars per year of waste heat. Such a discovery must not only be inexpensive, but must also be practical in all ways - a set of exceptional challenges, so far, un-achieved worldwide. Suddenly, a low-cost and practical proposed waste heat recovery solutions has popped up.  This long overdue breakthrough has just been filed in the US Patent Office by Pinnacle Products. We must be candid: This waste heat recovery patent application must be validated by more than one impeccable independent review - which is underway, and is indeed being validated, as we speak. The next step will be prototyping for absolute validation. At this stage, Pinnacle has solicited several PhD and thermal engineering reviews of its breakthrough invention and no fatal flaw has been identified. Moreover, if fully validated, it will revise and repair a 190 year old chasm in the fundamental physics 2nd law of thermodynamics!  By that, we mean, over 90% thermal-to-electricity conversion efficiency can be achieved - a goal that Lord Kelvin and James Joule tried to prove but failed to demonstrate between 1824 and 1889. Even today, the 2nd law is criticized and ridiculed for being based on "empirical deductions" and on "negative statements" (like "impossible" and "cannot") where, in scientific circles, a "negative" can not be proven. Only positives can be proven by demonstrations plus flawless theory(ies). Thus, with emphasis, if Pinnacle's thermoelectric generation patent pending invention is fully validated, it will finally repair the 2nd Law and open trillions of dollars of added prosperity. If, on the other hand, for reasons that Pinnacle and reviewers, cannot determine, the thermoelectric invention can "only" achieve a large fraction of waste heat recovery (i.e. not "over 90% recovery"), it is still expected to shatter 190 year old scientific barriers, while not in the slightest way defy the all-powerful 1st Law of thermodynamics.  The breakthrough outcome will be fully determined in 2014. This American pending patent will then be filed in many other countries - all aimed at keeping America strong with high international exportation. Thermal waste energy prevention can profoundly alter land, sea and air transportation; power plants, and countless  other energy demands. For example, if our thermoelectric breakthrough is successful, imagine battery-less electric cars achieving hundreds of miles per gallon, wherein with just 2 gallons of fuel on board, the combustion heat value of fuels can be directly converted to electricity to power 85% efficient electric cars to achieve hundreds of miles per gallon.

Patent applications have not yet been filed. Thus, some cryptic language is employed here. However, this "cold energy" invention involves a radically new means to extremely economically extract the phenomenally large cold energy stored in deep ocean/lake bodies of water, so that it can be employed even hundreds of miles away onshore by the above GeoSolar energy-distribution invention.  All ocean water deeper than about 3000 feet is nearly ice-cold (4oC or lower).  Such a huge cold thermal reservoir (about 250 million cubic miles) is an obvious resource for free summer space-conditioning if only a means to get the cold energy to shore and to deliver it to all buildings were known. GeoSolar potable water is the means to deliver it to buildings, but a means to capture deep cold energy was, until now, the gross economic barrier. The present invention has finally broken the economic barrier by a factor of about 100-fold lower cost.  This invention can now convey deep "cold energy," without the use of long pipes, even hundreds of miles to inland cities at a typical cost of about 15 cents per day of residential space cooling (about 390,000 BTUs/day).  Thus, southern and especially tropical climates (where space-cooling is the largest energy demand) can now tap the free cold energy of our frigid oceans to create 10-fold lower cost space-cooling. That, in turn, dramatically slashes local electric power generation by about 1kw (~24 kwhrs/day) per residence, which represents a profound electric power reduction, especially critical in energy-poor nations and high-priced island electricity. As sometimes occurs with new breakthroughs like this, other benefits become apparent. In this case, record-low-cost desalination is the benefit. Not only can extremely low-cost space-cooling be provided, but copious desalinated ocean water is a free byproduct of harvesting the deep cold energy. Thus, super low-cost and very clean space-cooling plus copious fresh water are the results of applying GeoSolar Technology to this new breakthrough invention which harvests the nearly unlimited resources of deep oceans (with no known oceanic environmental impacts). Even if all of humanity used deep oceans for space cooling, the ocean temperature would not change by even 0.0001 oC;

4). The above mentioned "Solar Traps" breakthrough energy technology can greatly enhance the above GeoSolar Technology. Solar Trapping provides a dramatically lower-cost means to optically concentrate and store macro quantities of very high temperature solar energy, the thermal energy of which can be delivered to homes and buildings at almost no cost with the above GeoSolar potable water energy-delivery technology.  Prior arts to collect concentrated solar power with mirrors have made solar power several times more expensive than combustion energy. .From the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency: ..."In particular, U.S. buildings account for about 40 percent of total U.S. energy consumption, including 72 percent of electricity generation. If current trends continue, by 2025, buildings worldwide will be the largest consumer of global energy, consuming as much energy as the transportation and industry sectors combined." And WINTER HEATING overwhelms all other building energy consumption.


Factoid #2: The ultra low cost "Beamer technology" below offers the possibility to decrease global greenhouse gas emissions by more than one gigaton - the lowest cost global greenhouse gas reduction initiative known. What's a BEAMER?

This 20-fold quantum technological breakthrough achieving ~90% infrared radiant efficiency offers the world's least expensive means to slash winter space heating costs by 33% in frigid locations, to as high as 90% in other geographical regions, and about 50% in average America, and is therefore, by far, the lowest cost and most cost effective means to cut  U.S. greenhouse emissions by hundreds of megatons. This is NOT another common extremely inefficient "space heater". It is a totally new incandescent technology.

This extremely efficient long-distance infrared beaming technology applies to HOMES, RETAIL STORES, CROWED CLASSROOMS, THEATERS, LARGE INDOOR MALLS, WAREHOUSES, OFFICES, and even INDOOR/OUTDOOR STADIUMS. Note the key technology breakthrough above lies in a new means to create a "super radiant" infrared emitter located in a parabolic dish - not the dish itself. The laws of optics allow very long distance projections, akin to a very high powered adjustable infrared flashlight. Old inferior infrared heating technology would literally require many thousands of watts of input power to equal Pinnacle's mere 65-130 watt technology at warming-distances far beyond a mere 6-8 feet.  Beamers can work even at hundreds of feet!

And yet. about 100 million old style super-low efficiency radiant space heaters and infrared comfort heaters similar to the one below are used worldwide simply because they really do work by warming only one person instead of entire buildings. However, operating more than one old style radiant heater per home is prohibitively expensive and represent significant fire hazards.




These old radiant heaters really do offer significant winter-heating savings. But, until NOW, they've all been huge energy guzzlers and extremely energy inefficient - typically less than 5% of 1000-1500 input watts is actually received by people at up to ~6 feet. The rest becomes simple electrically heated expensive hot air. Pinnacle's Beamer breakthrough in infrared technology now brings about greater than 13 times higher energy efficiency and at NEAR ZERO DOLLARS NET COST OF ELECTRICITY!  These low powered beamers allow thermostats to be turned down, which causes the central heating furnaces to be on less and consume much less electricity. This unique winter heating breakthrough stems from one major discovery - the revolutionary ability to efficiently beam infrared radiant power very long distances through air - across rooms, from retail store ceilings to isles, and even across outdoor sports stadiums to completely benignly warm people, not objects. Radiant heated people cannot detect when indoor winter thermostats have been turned down by 12 to 20 degrees. Turning thermostats down that much can save 30% to over 90% of winter heating costs while still providing complete human comfort. This is a truly unique and remarkably inexpensive remedy for record high energy savings.

It might surprise many that some heating is required about 7 months of each year, with the exception of Florida - 3 months per year. The outdoor winter temperature in northern states averages about 30oF during a 120-day winter period; middle states average 40oF, and; southern states average about 50oF over the 120-day winter heating period. From that, it is clear that northern homes must ADD about 40 degrees of heat to be comfortable, middle states must ADD 30oF to be comfortable, and southern states central heating systems must ADD about 20oF to achieve comfort. So much heat is very expensive, amounting to thousands of dollars per year - by far, the largest home energy expense, far above cooling and lighting combined.

Thus, every 1oF reduction in thermostat central heating can save 2.5%, 3.3% or, 5% of winter heating costs, depending on northern or southern locations. A 12oF thermostat reduction leads to a 30% northern winter heating bill reduction; a 40% savings in middle states, and; a 60% winter savings in southern states. But, slightly more intense infrared radiant Beamers (which allows a 20oF thermostat reduction - with Beamers set on "High"), can reduce northern heating energy by 50%; 66% in middle states, and; over 90% in southern states. In other words, Beamers will conserve about the same amount of energy, in absolute dollars, in all states. Beamers in southern states save a much higher percentage of a smaller heating expense, and northern state Beamers save a smaller percent of a much larger heating expense.

In all cases, very low cost residential infrared radiant heating devices can produce enormous energy savings by consuming as little as 65 watts per person (but near ZERO net electricity cost per month because central heating systems are OFF longer each month) - for a annual heating energy savings, averaging about $600 to $1200 (depending on size of the house). Such beamed radiant heating offers such impressive energy savings that a "Beamered house" can instantly revalue homes about 20 times higher than the savings (roughly $12,000-$24,000 per home, depending on the home size). Moreover, it's such a simple and inexpensive home-retrofit that a credit card purchase of one Beamer can pay for itself in energy savings before the credit card bill is due (30 days). The word "retrofit" means "one screwdriver for 2 minutes".  The energy savings during just one winter, can offset the modest cost to upgrade an entire house with Beamers in many rooms. But if these nearly 100% efficient radiant Beamers are attached to ceilings and are beamed to bathe people in the shopping isles from their front and back sides (e.g. at ~60 degree angles), people would not even know, and cannot detect, that the store thermostats were turned down 12-20 degrees. People would literally feel like they were bathed in completely natural room temperature infra radiant heat. Artificial radiant heat produces very surprising, all-natural physiological effects. But retail store heating bills can be slashed by an amazing 30% to over 90% (depending on northern or southern locations... average = 60%) - thereby, saving many tens to even hundreds of thousands of dollars in heating bills each year. And, similar to home applications, the electricity consumed by the Beamers themselves is completely offset by the reduced "on-time" of central heating plants. The central heating system would switch itself on very seldom with Beamer supplemental heat. This surprising classroom Beamer effect is possible because each Beamer consumes so little input power per person. High powered (inefficient) prior art radiant heaters would demand extremely high power to provide very little radiant heat. Thus, prior art heaters would only serve to electrically heat the entire classroom to a comfortable 72oF - a prohibitively expensive prior art heating system.
The same classroom radiant heating concept applies to crowded movie theaters, convention centers,
